Our technology

A proven recycling pathway for clean cooking fuel

SFRET. Soot-Free Reactive Extraction Technology. Converts unsorted, end-of-life plastic into ultra low sulfur LPG safe for household cooking, paired with AI sorting and process control.

Feedstock supply

From street waste to clean cooking fuel

Our feedstock comes from women's collection cooperatives, municipal sweeps and informal waste pickers across Kampala and Wakiso, diverting plastic that would otherwise burn, clog drains or reach Lake Victoria.

Every batch is weighed, sorted and traced before it enters the SFRET reactor, giving collectors fair, transparent payment and giving the fuel a verifiable circular origin.

SFRET

Soot-Free Reactive Extraction Technology

Non recyclable plastics are heated in the absence of oxygen to form hydrocarbon vapours, then condensed into clean cooking fuel. Unlike basic pyrolysis, SFRET runs without soot, recovers more usable fuel and produces an ultra low sulfur output safe for household use.

Combined with AI driven feedstock sorting, process control and demand forecasting, the system gets more efficient, and more bankable, at every scale.

Our process

From plastic waste to a clean Ugandan kitchen

Our patent-pending SFRET process converts up to 92% of unsorted plastic into ultra-clean cooking fuel, with up to 93% lower greenhouse gas emissions than basic pyrolysis.

Plastic Recovery

Plastic Recovery

We intercept low value plastic before it is burned, dumped or washed into Kampala's drainage.

A network of women, youth cooperatives and community hubs aggregate post-consumer plastic, films, sachets, multi-layer packaging, that mechanical recyclers reject. Each kilogram is weighed, traced and paid for via mobile money.

  • 300+ verified collectors across Kampala & Wakiso
  • Mobile money payouts within 24 hours
  • GPS tagged batches with chain of custody

What makes Kyuka different

More than recycling, a circular clean cooking platform

Kyuka is designed around affordability, safety, community income and scalable industrial optimisation, not just plastic recycling. AI supports feedstock checks, predictive logistics, impact monitoring and carbon related reporting.

That makes the model stronger for investors, regulators and customers alike.

Pilot in production

Inside the Katanga micro-refinery

Real shots from the 2025 pilot. About 20 tonnes of plastic processed per day, roughly 210,000 litres of clean LPG produced annually, and 92% conversion of unsorted feedstock validated in our internal lab.

On site LPG storage

On site LPG storage

Branded 2,500 L cylinders and bladder tanks buffer monthly fuel output before-refilling routes leave the hub.

Burner flame validation

Burner flame validation

Every batch is flame tested for purity. Lab analysis confirms 85%+ propane, butane content, meeting commercial LPG targets.

Community safety demos
